This is a very limited edition print of an original ink drawing, on archival german etching paper. Each print is hand embellished in gold with different ornamentation, suggesting strength and protection. No two prints are quite alike… photos here show a progress shot, and one version of ornamentation.
Print is 16″x20″, edition of only 20.
This print is a benefit for the Black Mambas… an all-female anti-poaching unit protecting wildlife in South Africa. You’ll want to follow them at @blackmambaapu. Also check out the photos of @juliagunther_photography to see some really inspiring stuff. From her site:
“The Black Mambas are trained in anti-poaching and survival skills by a variety of professionals. The women are taught to identify and track humans and animals, how to blend in with their surroundings and how to avoid confrontations. Their training is crucial as the animals they track are wild, and poachers shoot to kill. The Black Mambas also teach the local communities that surround the park, communities in which they themselves live, about the value of the nature that surrounds them.”
I will be making a donation to the Black Mambas, and adding 50% of my profits from this print.
